Job Description:
-Assisting in the formulation of advocacy strategies and there implementation. Reinforcing JLAC's public education, advocacy, and campaign with appropriate multi media tools and effort.
-Undertaking research studies, position papers, and reports from and IHL standpoint. Networking with relevant individuals and FIR organizations (through; membership in international networks, participation in e-groups, information exchange, developing a volunteer base, etc.).
-Networking with international media corporations and posting relevant news on relevant online portals or sites.
-Developing publications aimed at raising the profile of, and promoting selected issues (i.e. articles, informative leaflets/flyers, etc.).
-Developing and disseminating electronic updates (via group email lists), and developing
mailing lists and replying to inquiries received.
-Supplying JLAC web sites with clear, up-to-date information and relevant resources. Conducting continuous literature reviews, as to map and analyze relevant sector developments (e.g. articles, reports, implementation of policy, etc.).
-Preparing reports as required (i.e. shadow repots, monitoring, statistics, etc.). Assisting in the composition of concept papers and funding proposals. Undertaking any other appropriate duties as may be required by the line manager, including translation.
Qualifications:
-Minimum BA. in international law, human rights, democracy, political science, international relations.
-Minimum 3 years of proven experience in similar posts.
-Excellent communication skills in both Arabic and English.
-Excellent research skills, understanding of political situation, and IHL.
-Ability to work to deadlines with good prioritization and time management skills
